Longwell Green 2 - 1 Bideford
Sunday, 07 February 2010 09:49
Bidefords 10 match unbeaten run comes to an end with a defeat against 5th place Longwell Green. Bideford stay top of the table, but only one point now seperates the Robins and Ilfracombe.
Report from The North Devon Journal
A late calamity from goalkeeper Ryan Draper saw the Robins slip to a 2-1 defeat in Bristol.
Draper, who had kept six clean sheets in his last seven games, took too long dealing with a back-pass and was dispossessed.
Longwell Green went ahead after two minutes when a misdirected cross flew straight over the visiting keeper.
But the league leaders looked on course for a point when Kevin Squire equalised 12 minutes from time.
A first league defeat since the 2-0 reverse at Brislington on October 17 has seen Biddy's lead cut to just one point, although they have played a game less than second placed Ilfracombe Town.
Bideford: Ryan Draper, Nick Barker, Ben Wood, Rob Francis, Chris Brown, Darren Hawkings, Ian Down, Clay Bond, Matt Andrew, Kevin Squire, Ellis Laight. Subs: Matt Hockley, Matt Downing, Billy Hopcroft.
